“Transforming Careers: From Accountant to Tech Innovator – My Journey of Impact and Growth”

In today’s rapidly evolving tech industry, it’s not just about the hefty packages but also about making a difference and creating a lasting impact. This is the story of my journey from being an accountant stuck in a monotonous routine to venturing into the world of technology with a vision to solve problems and build a business.

As I belong to a business family and have a commerce background, I had plans to build a business and hire engineers for it. But I realised that I would not be able to understand the core technical aspects of my business. I finally decided to learn to code, joined Scaler, and started from scratch. It’s been 6 months since I started the course, and I feel that at least 20 – 30% where I envisioned myself. I can now write code and have developed a problem-solving mindset. I have been gradually learning from my own mistakes, and after a point when I was unable to solve the problems, I realised that the methods of solving problems that the instructors were teaching were very important and made it easier.

Strategies that I have been following to stay consistent while learning:

Purposeful Motivation: I constantly remind myself why I started this journey, focusing on the impact I want to create and the opportunities that lie ahead.

Real-Life Relevance: To overcome monotony, I make coding relatable to real-life scenarios. Connecting concepts to practical use cases keeps me engaged and motivated.

Effective Note-Taking: Taking comprehensive notes has proven invaluable. It helps reinforce learning, track progress, and serve as a reference for future review.

Before joining Scaler, I had been trying to learn from YouTube and other online resources for two months. I was learning multiple things simultaneously but was unable to solve a single problem. While YouTube is useful for research, the lack of structure hindered my progress. At Scaler, I found a structured curriculum and expert instructors like @Namisha Panwar ma’am, who have been instrumental in providing guidance and ensuring thorough understanding.
